The Present Doorway

Ánimo currently opens through ChatGPT.

Ánimo is an independently developed reflective experience. It currently opens through ChatGPT, a service provided by OpenAI, because conversation offers a natural form for reflection: responsive enough to follow a question, spacious enough to examine it from more than one angle.

Ánimo is not OpenAI, and OpenAI does not sponsor or endorse the Ánimo project.

What Ánimo can see

The creator of a custom GPT cannot view the individual conversations that people have with it. Joanna Shaw and Ánimo Reflective Intelligence do not receive a transcript of your conversation through this website.

Your conversation remains subject to OpenAI’s systems, account settings, terms and privacy practices.

How OpenAI may use conversations

Whether a conversation may be used by OpenAI to improve its models depends on the ChatGPT plan being used and the user’s Data Controls.

For ChatGPT Business, Enterprise and Edu, conversation data is not used for model training by default. On consumer plans, including Free, Plus and Pro, use for model improvement depends on the user’s settings. Users can review or change this under ChatGPT Settings → Data Controls.

What to share

Reflection can become personal. Even so, it is wise not to enter information that you would not want processed by an online service. Avoid sharing passwords, financial credentials, medical records, identifying information about another person or material you are not entitled to disclose.

Ánimo is designed to support reflection, not to create a confidential clinical, legal or fiduciary relationship.

External actions

If Ánimo later introduces an external app, action or service that receives information from a conversation, that use will be disclosed and this page will be updated. ChatGPT may also ask for confirmation before information is sent to an external service.

Your choice remains yours

Ánimo can help reveal patterns, frame questions and test interpretations. It should not replace your judgement. Important medical, psychological, legal, financial or safety decisions should be taken with an appropriately qualified human professional.
